Objective

Create an exhibition catalogue. I chose to do it on a photographer named Fan Ho.

Process

My creative direction was to create a book that is black and white. Because Fan Ho had shot black and white photography since the 1950s and mentioned that it creates a distance from real life and that the colour black has power and mystery. I played with negative space to create the distance he was talking about. I incorporated grainy textures on pages to mimic the grain in film photography and a handwritten font to create an intimate atmosphere.
